Jessica Messica

Becoming an adult, for many, is to lose one’s innocence and inner child, to slowly drift away from the freedom of youth. This child is inside me, deep down. Craving to explore, to have fun, to be careless.

With the perspective of coming to a city I have never been to before, I use the character of the clown to personify my inner child. The clown also allows me to explore care-freely as any child would. My work is a conversation within myself but also made to encourage others to connect with their own inner child.

Born in 2000 (CH), Jessica Pruzin is a photographer and visual artist based between The Hague (NL) and Geneva (CH). She is currently studying a BA in photography at the Royal Academy of the Arts in the Hague. Her work mainly revolves around childhood memories and how they have shaped her into the person she is today.
